Extra Bibles

Hey friends, there is an opportunity out there to help missionaries and Pastors in Africa, and this is not asking for money. More new Christians are baptized in Africa every day than the rest of the world combined! Did you know that? Another fun fact, almost all of the Pastors in the tribal villages do not have their own bibles. Some walk for over 20 miles to a neighboring village or missionary to copy portions of scripture on scraps of paper and animal hide. Some use napkins, or any thing that can be written on, as paper is scarce. And that is all these ministers have.

There is a ministry that is dedicated to getting a Bible in the hands of the Christians in Africa. First to every village and town, then to every Pastor, and then to every Christian.

The average American Christian household has 9 bibles in it. They are asking that we donate any extra Bibles to them. Surely we have one to spare. What we would call old, wore out, and out dated, they would call a miracle. Please consider rounding up your extras and donating them to this ministry.

Go to www.bareyourbookshelf.com and register on their website, and then follow the directions there. You can also find a story about this ministry in today’s Faith News Network News Brief.

This is a unique opportunity for us to stand with our Christian Brothers and Sisters and ensure that they receive a complete Bible to study and to use in their worship. Boy, do we take a lot of things for granted, or what?

And the even better news: The Gospel is getting closer to being preached to all peoples, which means we are getting closer to our Blessed Hope, the return of our Lord Jesus Christ!

And then help spread the news to all those you can so they can take it to their churches as well. God bless you all!
