I know it has been a long while, but here we go again. Thanks for all e-mails of concern, everything is alright here, just been busy, and not feeling that well either. Been real stiff, but I am doing fine. We just had the greatest day of the year for a stay at home Dad with 5 kids: First day of School. It is a day I look forward to more than Christmas. we have all 5 in school, so the days are a lot quieter around here. My oldest just started Middle School, and he was very nervous, but found that it was pretty cool there.
We also adopted a kitten. Not just any kitten, but a newborn that has to be bottle fed. Her mother was killed by a car. She is named Sheba, and is a cute little furball. Spoiled already, she is doted on by all five boys.
I have been reflecting on a few things lately, and my mind keeps coming back to how good God really is. If us in our human weakness could grasp, just for a second, how mighty and all powerful our God is, we would never worry about anything. Imagine what would happen if every one believed God? I mean, really believed everything He has said in His Word, all His promises, and all of His wishes for us. Jesus said that if one person had faith the size of a mustard seed, we could command a mountain to move to the sea, and it would have to obey. For that matter, what if just one Church truly believed God? You that are in Church know that there are few God-fearing, Bible believing Christians left. it is mostly a building filled with heretics on one side, and modern day Pharisees on the other, with nothing getting done. We go in, sing our three songs, zone out during a 30 minute sermon, and then cuss the Sunday drivers on the way home.
But imagine: 1 Church that was praying in one accord! Believing in one accord! We could literally move mountains for Christ. Jesus' only command to the church as a whole was to feed the hungry, heal the sick, visit those in prison, and take care of the orphans and widows. Is your Church doing that? Don't be ashamed, few are. Some are doing some of those things, but I have found very few that are doing all of them.
Ever notice how small a mustard seed is? We used some this week making pickles. They are tiny. Can we not muster just this much faith? Imagine what would happen. I happen to be part of a Church that is small, but doing more than Churches 10 times it size. Why? Because we believe. People come from miles around so that our prayer warriors and elders can lay hands on them. Then they walk away refreshed, strengthened, and healed. But even in our small church there are scoffers, gossipers, and naysayers. We overcome those by the Blood of the Lamb and our testimonies. Sound familiar?
Jesus said the world would hate us, but not to fear, because He has overcome the world. That should have you shouting, because if we are His, we too have overcome the world. So fear not, all you weary and broken hearted, because the King is soon coming! And then we truly will be "more than conquerors."
Before I go, please remember our associate Pastor in your prayers; he lost his son on Wednesday night. Remember my brother, Codey as well. He has checked his self out of our drug program and returned to Alabama, against my advice. Also remember me, as I start the last year of college on the 12th. It only took 10 years, but I did it.
I hope to have some pictures posted soon, and we are working on a website, so look forward to that. It will be a lot easier to interact from a website, than on here. May God Bless and keep you all safe and healthy!!
Jesse
